Strange news.
Kurt Angle signed a deal with TNA this week. He's apparently going to be joining the company just as they go into prime time on Spike(though they're still not live, and still on a different night then either of WWE's programs.)
Not sure how to see this. On the one hand, it's somewhat of a coup for TNA, as Angle does come with an impressive pedigree, and he might be able to draw in some casual fans who might not watch TNA otherwise. On the other hand, Angle is said to be pretty seriously messed up physically, and is probably one injury away from Bret Hart-land(or maybe Pillman/Spicoli/Eddie Guerrero-land). I probably will watch the first couple of appearances.
The one other thing that's good about this is that Jeff Jarrett can't bury Angle. There's no way that they can job him out to Jarrett, and the potential for him to have some good matches with Samoa Joe and A.J. Styles is there. But on the other hand, a lot of these guys aren't as accomplished as WWE guys, and the potential for Angle to get a career-ender is a lot higher.
I was also surprised to see Eric Bischoff back on Raw tonight, even though it was just to shill his new book. He claims to tell the truth in it, and it will be interesting to see if it's WWE revisionist history truth, or if it's like Foley and Flair's books.
