Some randomness today...

Ten things I most recently downloaded from various sources:

Nirvana Complete Discography (though not complete enough to include the Greatest Hits Album)
Dire Straits Complete Discography
Green Day Complete Discography
Led Zeppelin - How The West Was Won
NWA/TNA PPV 6-30-04
Aphex Twin - 26 Mixes For Cash
The 5678's - Teenage Mojo Workout and Bomb The Rocks
Maroon 5 - Songs About Jane (Downloaded for my sister. I've never even heard these guys.)
Funkadelic - Maggot Brain, Funkadelic, and Free Your Mind and Your Ass Will Follow
Grateful Dead - Rockin' The Rhein '72.

--------------------------------

RIP Marlon Brando - Once great, now a punchline. But for The Godfather, Last Tango In Paris, and above all else On The Waterfront, an icon that will live forever.

RIP George "Buck" Flower, a "that guy", a true character actor of the B-Movies who appeared in 119 films in a 35-year career, and also wrote 13 movies and worked as a producer, production manager and second unit director. He was often cast as a drifter or a homeless person, but if you saw him once, you saw him all the time.

--------------------------------

The Yankees are intent on torturing me this year. How else to explain the 13-inning nightmare last night? John Flaherty saved the Yanks and added another plank to the Curse of the Bambino.

--------------------------------

Does Showtime really think people are going to spend $40 or whatever it is they're going to charge for the Mike Tyson fight at the end of the month? Tyson is done, and that's all there is to it. The sad part of all this is that if he plays his cards right, he might find himself in a title match against any of the heavyweight champions that are not Vitaly Klitschko. Tyson settled his lawsuit with Don King, a lawsuit he easily could have won, so that he could get himself back in King's good graces. That way, if he does well in this fight, he might be able to get a fight with one of King's champions. And they say wrestling's fixed.

Hey, if you start listening to the Led Zep now, you can be through "Dazed and Confused" by August!

I want to write Tyson off so badly. But I think there's a really, really good chance they'll feed Lamon Brewster to him, and that's a fight I think Tyson can win. And if he does, he'll tack another couple years of life onto his career. Scary.

Tyson could beat any heavyweight you throw at him...and De La Hoya can fight his way out of a paper bag.
Sorry; late night, salsa for breakfast, probably hallucinating.
